How do I set up my email to work with Outlook Express?

1. Select "Accounts" from the Tools menu in Outlook Express.

2. On the "Mail" tab, click "Add", and then select "Mail". This will open the "Internet Connection Wizard."

3. In the "Display Name" box on the first screen, type a name the way you would like it displayed in your outgoing messages. This is the "From" line.

4. The next screen will prompt you to enter your full email address (for example, info@yourdomainname.com).

5. On the next screen, select POP3 from the pull-down menu. Enter your POP3 server names.
Incoming mail server = mail.yourdomainname.com
Outgoing mail server = mail.yourdomainname.com

6. On the next screen, enter your email address and password, provided by us on your email configuration letter. Do NOT check “Log on using Secure Password Authentication.”

7. Click “next” and then “finish”. You will see a window, which lists your new mail account. Now it is time to set some properties. Choose the new mail account and click on the “Property Button”.

8. On the next screen, enter a name for this email account. I like to use the actual email address so that it is easy to identify in the account list. Make sure that the “Include this account when receiving mail or synchronizing” IS checked.

9. Click the "Servers" tab. Click the checkbox next to the description "My Server Requires Authentication". Then click on the settings button.

10. Make sure that the outgoing mail server “uses same settings as my incoming mail server” button is checked. Click “OK” and then click “OK” again to close the account properties window.

That’s it! Your new email account is ready to send and receive messages. Please be sure to test it. Send an email to the new address from another one of your email addresses, or have a friend email you.
